CANSSI Is Looking for an Associate Director to Represent Ontario

By , In , In News

The Canadian Statistical Sciences Institute (CANSSI) invites expressions of interest to fill the position of Associate Director (AD) representing Ontario.

Position Description

Associate Directors work closely with the Director, Deputy Director, and Regional Directors to form the primary management and administrative group for CANSSI.

Associate Directors provide feedback on all aspects of CANSSI operations, help steer CANSSI developments, and adjudicate the smaller budget programs as well as the CANSSI Distinguished Postdoctoral Fellowships program.

Associate Directors also help organize regional input into CANSSI. There are AD positions representing each CANSSI region (Prairies, Ontario, Quebec, and Atlantic), as well as a position representing smaller institutions.

Associate Directors serve three-year terms, and regular rotation of ADs is a key strategy in preserving the grassroots guidance of CANSSI. CANSSI especially welcomes applications that will bring in new and diverse leadership.

Qualifications

Applicants for this service position should be faculty members in statistical sciences at a CANSSI member institution in Ontario. Typically, an individual taking on this role would be an Associate or Full Professor.

How to Apply

To express your interest in serving as the AD for Ontario, please submit a paragraph outlining your relevant experience and qualifications to CANSSI Scientific Program Coordinator Louisa Benhamida at louisa_benhamida@sfu.ca.

Louisa can also answer any questions you may have about the role and the associated responsibilities.

Expressions of interest will be accepted until July 31, 2025.
