Assistant Professor Tenure-track Position in Statistics (2 positions) | University of British Columbia
The Department of Statistics in the Faculty of Science at the University of British Columbia (UBC), Vancouver, invites applications from outstanding new investigators for two tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant Professor, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2025. The salary range for this position is $145K–$160K, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Candidates must have a PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics, or a related field and must demonstrate evidence of research success and a high potential to be leaders in their research field. The successful candidate should have a strong record of research productivity commensurate with their experience and will be expected to develop an independent research program in an area that complements existing Department expertise and aligns with opportunities at UBC. The successful candidate will be expected to effectively supervise Statistics graduate students, collaborate with other faculty members, obtain external funding, teach undergraduate and graduate Statistics courses, and actively participate in departmental activities. In addition, successful candidates will have a strong commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion, to create a welcoming community for all, particularly those who are historically, persistently or systemically marginalized.

The University of Waterloo invites applications, nominations, and expressions of interest for the position of Dean, Faculty of Mathematics with the appointment to be effective July 1, 2025.
As a University Officer, the Dean has the dual role of making independent judgments on University matters and representing the Faculty of Mathematics’ policies and points of view. They have responsibility for over 9,000 undergraduate and graduate students, over 230 regular tenure-stream professors and 75 teaching professors, teaching more than 500 courses, and 190 staff. An eminent scholar, the Dean will model the best in academic ideals of teaching, research, service, and collaboration–and will foster a culture in which faculty and students can continue to experiment and excel. Assistant Professors in Statistics and Data Science (4 positions) | University of Manitoba
The Department of Statistics at the University of Manitoba invites applications for four full-time probationary (tenure-track) positions at the Assistant Professor level, commencing July 1, 2025, or on a date mutually agreed upon. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
The Department seeks emerging scholars with experience in Statistics or Data Science. Outstanding candidates with research interests and/or contributions in any area relevant to Data Science will be considered, with particular emphasis on candidates who will complement or extend the Department’s strengths in Statistics and Data Science. The successful candidates must have completed a Ph.D. in Statistics, Biostatistics, Computer Science or a related area with distinguishing attributes grounded in Data Science at the start date of the appointment, and show a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and research.
The ideal candidate will bring and support new synergies within and potentially outside the Department. People with experience in Statistical Machine Learning, Computational Statistics, Sampling Methods, High Dimensional Data Analysis, Astrostatistics, Artificial Intelligence or Data Mining are especially invited to apply. Applied experience in areas of applications such as environmental sciences, health sciences, bioinformatics and postdoctoral experience in interdisciplinary research would also be considered an asset.

Assistant Professor in Statistics with Expertise in Causal Inference | Université de Montréal
The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Université de Montréal has an opening for an Assistant Professor in statistics with expertise in causal inference.
The successful candidate could be nominated for an IVADO Professor position if his/her expertise and research program meet IVADO’s objectives. These positions offer enhanced start-up funds. IVADO professors will participate in the ambitious (IAR3) project aimed at the development and adoption of robust, reasoning and responsible artificial intelligence, for which IVADO has been awarded an Apogée Canada grant.
Exceptional candidates could then be proposed for a Courtois Philanthropic Research Chair.

Tenure-track Laboratory Instructor II in Statistics and Data Sciences | University of Regina
The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Regina invites applications for a tenure-track Laboratory Instructor II position, starting on July 1, 2025.
We seek an individual with strong commitment and expertise in Statistics and Data Science. Applicants must hold, at a minimum, an M.Sc. in Statistics, Data Science, or a closely related discipline. The candidate’s expertise should align with the undergraduate laboratories offered by the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, particularly those involving Python and R programming languages, statistical computing, statistical learning and predictive modelling, linear statistical methods, linear and discrete optimization, numerical analysis, and other related subjects.

Principal Investigator in Data Science and Health Research (2 Positions) | Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute (Affiliated with University of Toronto)
The Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute (LTRI) of Sinai Health, a University of Toronto affiliated research centre, is seeking two (2) emerging leaders in the broad area of Population Health Data Science. The appointments will be for Full-Time Principal Investigators, rank equivalent to Assistant or Associate Professors, with the anticipated starting date of September 1, 2025, or a date to be mutually agreed upon.
We seek applicants who will develop independent, outstanding and innovative Population Health Data Science research programs. We will consider applicants spanning all areas of Population Health Data Science and are particularly interested in investigators with a specific focus on one of the following topics:
(i) Infectious disease research, including but not limited to communicable disease epidemiology, mathematical modelling, pathogen genomics and phylodynamics.
(ii) Population data linkage research based on connection of population data from various sources, such as electronic medical records, administrative and laboratory databases, and geospatial information linkable to environmental conditions at the provincial, national or international scale.

Lead Research Associate (Research Data) | University of Manitoba
An exciting opportunity exists for the position of Lead of Research Data with the Data Science team in the George & Fay Yee Centre for Healthcare Innovation (CHI), University of Manitoba.
The successful candidate will take a leadership role in research, collaborations, and training activities to support the development, linkage, curation, and maintenance of research databases at provincial and national levels. The ideal candidate is a leader and innovator who will oversee a team of database developers and analysts that coordinate the creation, linkage, and evaluation of clinical and related health databases.
The Lead will be responsible for the Data Coordinating Centre (DCC), which creates and maintains high-quality databases using RedCap software, will work closely with the Manitoba Centre for Health Policy (MHCP) to support linkage of diverse types of electronic health and social data, and will liaise with Health Data Research Network Canada to support the harmonization and standardization of national health data.

The McGill University Department of Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Occupational Health (EBOH) and the McGill University Department of Medicine in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences are inviting applications for a full-time, joint position at the rank of Assistant Professor (tenure-track).

Statistician | Simon Fraser University (Advancing Health)
Simon Fraser University’s Centre for Advancing Health Outcomes (Advancing Health) has a position for a Statistician situated at St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Under the supervision of Dr. Bohdan Nosyk, the Statistician will be embedded in the Health Economic Research Unit (HERU) and will provide expertise in the design and analysis of health research studies. Major responsibilities include: leading and contributing to statistical analysis of health administrative data, literature reviews, manuscripts, research dissemination, and other research-related activities; providing statistical advice to faculty, staff, and students; developing statistical analysis strategies; performing data analysis and evaluation; and interpreting and summarizing analyses and results for research reports and publications.
