Join Us for Lunch and a Discussion on Navigating Career Stages

By , In , In News

In our discussions with members of Canada’s statistical sciences community, mentoring has always emerged as a high-priority topic.

One outcome of that dialogue is a new partnership between CANSSI and the Institute of Mathematical Statistics (IMS) that will generate opportunities for statisticians to trade experiences and share life (and career) lessons.

A Special Lunchtime Session at JSM 2024

The first opportunity will be a jointly hosted lunchtime session titled “Navigating Different Stages of a Successful Career in Academia, Industry, and Beyond” on August 5 at the 2024 Joint Statistical Meetings (JSM 2024) in Portland, Oregon.

The session will bring together a panel of statisticians from different subject areas and career stages, ranging from junior to senior, to discuss their career paths, offer career advice, and respond to questions. It is intended for statisticians and data scientists in all sectors and at all stages of their careers and will include time for networking. As an added bonus, attendees will receive a free boxed lunch.

There is no cost for the event itself, but participants must be registered for JSM 2024, and attendance will be capped at 75. If you register after the cap, you will be wait-listed.
