CANSSI and the Statistical Society of Canada (SSC) share a close relationship. We’re a sponsor of the 2024 SSC Annual Meeting at Memorial University in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, on June 2–5, and we’ll be active participants in the program. We’d love to have you join us at the following sessions:
- Monday, June 3, 10:20–11:50 a.m.: CANSSI Director Don Estep and Deputy Director Andrea Benedetti will speak at “Funding Opportunities for Statistics and Data Science Research.”
- Monday, June 3, 3:30–5:00 p.m.: Don will be part of a panel discussing “Past, Present, and Future of Statistical Education.”
- Wednesday, June 5, 10:20–11:50 a.m.: “Spotlight on CANSSI Postdocs” with William Ruth (University of Montreal) and Chi Kuang Yeh (McGill University), chaired by Andrea.
- Wednesday, June 5, 1:30–3:00 p.m.: Don and Andrea will host a Q&A session about CANSSI.
CANSSI is also a strong supporter of the Twelfth Annual Canadian Statistics Student Conference, which takes place at Memorial University on June 1, the day before the 2024 SSC Annual Meeting. We are sponsoring the Virtual Poster Competition and will be providing judges and prizes for this part of the conference.
