CANSSI approved a number of revisions to its organizational structure at the 2023 Annual General Meeting on June 16. One was a decision to rename the Board of Directors as the Board of Governors to better reflect its role in overseeing all of CANSSI’s activities.
The name change coincided with changes in the membership of the Board.
Longtime CANSSI supporters Karen Kopciuk (University of Calgary and Cancer Epidemiology and Prevention Research, Alberta Health Services) and Nancy Reid (University of Toronto and former Director of CANSSI) completed their terms on the Board amid expressions of gratitude from their CANSSI colleagues.
Josée Dupuis (McGill University) and Shelley Bull (University of Toronto) joined the Board for three-year terms. They bring deep expertise and valuable perspectives with them.
The terms of current Board members Tim Hesterberg (Instacart) and Shili Lin (Ohio State University) were extended for an additional two years, and Xuebin Zhang (Environment and Climate Change Canada)’s term was extended for an additional year.
