It might not rival the scale of Taylor Swift’s concert tour, but the Atlantic Canada Data Science Tour will bring excitement and an exceptional lineup of speakers to statistical sciences students in Canada’s eastern provinces during the 2024–2025 academic year.
The tour is being organized by CANSSI Atlantic and will include a talk each month at a university in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, or Newfoundland and Labrador. Each talk will be presented by a faculty member or graduate student from the host university and will be geared toward upper-level undergraduates in statistics or computer science programs. The hybrid (in person and online) format will make the series accessible to students throughout Atlantic Canada and beyond.
The series will begin on September 27, 2024, with “What I’m Doing As a Grad Student,” a collection of short presentations by four master’s and PhD students in statistics at Dalhousie University.
