Tenure-track Position in Statistics | University of Saskatchewan
Applications are invited from qualified individuals for a full-time tenure-track faculty position in Statistics at the Assistant Professor level with the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Saskatchewan. The area of particular interest is Data Science with a focus on Computational Statistics and Machine Learning. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a vibrant externally funded research program which complements the departmental research activities in Statistics, collaborate effectively with researchers within and beyond the department, teach a wide variety of undergraduate and graduate level courses in Statistics, mentor graduate and undergraduate students in the areas of academics and research development, supervise graduate students, develop curricula through needs assessment, and be strongly committed to providing service to the department, college, university, and statistical communities.
The successful candidate will have a PhD in Statistics, or a related discipline, from a reputable institution. We are seeking candidates who have a strong research record, evidenced by established or developing research initiatives and publications in prestigious professional journals, and who have demonstrated effective classroom teaching skills, effective interpersonal and communication skills, and collegiality. Evidence of the ability to attract external grant funding will be considered an asset. Evidence of professional service or outreach to statistical communities at the university-level will also be considered an asset. The specific teaching needs of the Department will be taken into account in the decision-making process.

Sessional Lecturer in Statistics | University of British Columbia
To meet the increasing demand for statistics and data science training at the undergraduate level, the Department of Statistics at the University of British Columbia is seeking a sessional lecturer for 2024 Winter Term 2 to teach STAT 302: Introduction to Probability. The appointment may be renewed subject to the need of the department, availability of funding, and demonstration of excellence in teaching.
The successful candidate will work the equivalent of teaching a total of one three-credit course in our undergraduate program over the term of the appointment (13.2 hours/week; January 1, 2025, until April 30, 2025).
It is anticipated that applicants must hold a master’s degree (PhD preferred) in statistics or a related field, have prior university teaching experience, and have demonstrated potential to provide quality undergraduate instruction in statistics and/or data science at an introductory (100 or 200) or intermediate (300) level.

Assistant Professor in Data-Driven Modelling for Ecology and Water Conservation | University of Calgary
The Faculty of Science at the University of Calgary invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor focusing on Data-Driven Modelling for Ecology and Water Conservation. The successful candidate will be appointed in one of the Departments in the Faculty of Science, depending on specific expertise and candidate preference. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2025.
The successful candidate should have a PhD in mathematics, statistics, biological sciences, or a related discipline and display potential for leading a high-impact, transdisciplinary research program. Candidates who are near completion of their program will also be considered. Preference will be given to candidates with a primary focus and interest centred around the modelling of aquatic ecosystems and/or water usage, with an eye to sustainable management of water resources—ensuring water quality and promoting conservation efforts.

The successful candidate will be appointed in one of the departments in the Faculty of Science, depending on specific expertise and candidate preference. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2025.
The successful candidate should have a PhD in mathematics, statistics, or a related discipline and display potential for leading a high-impact, transdisciplinary research program. Candidates who are near completion of their program will also be considered. Preference will be given to candidates whose research is centred around applications of a broad range of mathematical and statistical methods (e.g., spatiotemporal processes, dynamical systems, partial differential equations, optimization, game theory, functional data analysis, machine learning) to clean energy systems such as

Assistant or Associate Professor in Veterinary Epidemiology | Université de Montréal
The veterinary medicine faculty of Université de Montréal is currently accepting candidatures for an Assistant or Associate Professor in Veterinary Epidemiology. In this role, your responsibilities will include:

Assistant/Associate Professor (Post-baccalaureate in Applied Data Science) | Thompson Rivers University
Thompson Rivers University launched a Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Applied Data Science in September 2023. The Department of Mathematics and Statistics is seeking to hire a highly qualified individual for one tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor to teach in the Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Applied Data Science Program, beginning December 1, 2024.
Duties include teaching courses in this program such as Introduction to Statistical Data Analysis, Data Visualization and Manipulation through Scripting, Regression for Applied Data Science, Design for Data Science, Multivariate Statistics for Applied Data Science, and Simulations for Modeling, Optimizing and Analysis.
The successful candidate will also be expected to establish an independent research program and to supervise student research and projects.

Assistant Professor Tenure-track Position in Statistics (2 positions) | University of British Columbia
The Department of Statistics in the Faculty of Science at the University of British Columbia (UBC), Vancouver, invites applications from outstanding new investigators for two tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant Professor, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2025. The salary range for this position is $145K–$160K, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Candidates must have a PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics, or a related field and must demonstrate evidence of research success and a high potential to be leaders in their research field. The successful candidate should have a strong record of research productivity commensurate with their experience and will be expected to develop an independent research program in an area that complements existing Department expertise and aligns with opportunities at UBC. The successful candidate will be expected to effectively supervise Statistics graduate students, collaborate with other faculty members, obtain external funding, teach undergraduate and graduate Statistics courses, and actively participate in departmental activities. Assistant Professors in Statistics and Data Science (4 positions) | University of Manitoba
The Department of Statistics at the University of Manitoba invites applications for four full-time probationary (tenure-track) positions at the Assistant Professor level, commencing July 1, 2025, or on a date mutually agreed upon. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
The Department seeks emerging scholars with experience in Statistics or Data Science. Outstanding candidates with research interests and/or contributions in any area relevant to Data Science will be considered, with particular emphasis on candidates who will complement or extend the Department’s strengths in Statistics and Data Science. The successful candidates must have completed a Ph.D. in Statistics, Biostatistics, Computer Science or a related area with distinguishing attributes grounded in Data Science at the start date of the appointment, and show a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and research.
The ideal candidate will bring and support new synergies within and potentially outside the Department. People with experience in Statistical Machine Learning, Computational Statistics, Sampling Methods, High Dimensional Data Analysis, Astrostatistics, Artificial Intelligence or Data Mining are especially invited to apply. Applied experience in areas of applications such as environmental sciences, health sciences, bioinformatics and postdoctoral experience in interdisciplinary research would also be considered an asset.
