Overview
The CANSTAT-CANSSI Distinguished Postdoctoral Fellowship is offered in conjunction with CANSSI’s flagship CANSSI Distinguished Postdoctoral Fellowships program. The CANSTAT-CANSSI fellowship is open to applicants with a recent PhD in actuarial sciences, biostatistics, data science, or statistics, uses the same application process as the CDPF program, and provides the same benefits.
The main differences between the two programs are the research focus—projects undertaken as part of the CANSTAT-CANSSI partnership focus on methodological developments relevant to the statistical design and analysis of clinical trials—and the fact that for the CANSTAT-CANSSI program, at least one supervisor must be a member of CANSTAT. In addition, CANSTAT-CANSSI Distinguished Postdoctoral Fellows have access to CANSTAT online workshops and annual meetings.
The CDPF program offers a salary of $70,000 per year over two years for a comprehensive statistics-centred training experience that includes a research project co-supervised by researchers at two different CANSSI member institutions.
CDPF applicants choose their preferred research projects from a list of project proposals submitted by researchers. Applicants who choose projects co-supervised by at least one member of CANSTAT are automatically considered for the CANSTAT-CANSSI Distinguished Postdoctoral Fellowship.
